Week three prompt response: 1. I am looking for a book by Laurell K. Hamilton. I just read the third book in the Anita Blake series and I can’t figure out which one comes next! The fourth book in the Anita Blake series is called The Lunatic CafĂ© . 2. What have I read recently? Well, I just finished this great book by Barbara Kingsolver, Prodigal Summer . I really liked the way it was written, you know, the way she used language. I wouldn't mind something a bit faster paced though. I would recommend the book Bloodroot by Amy Green. The author has the same lyrical language as Kingsolver and it is listed as fast paced. 3. I like reading books set in different countries. I just read one set in China, could you help me find one set in Japan? No, not modern – historical. I like it when the author describes it so much it feels like I was there! Personal Reading Profile I love to read (obviously, or I wouldn't be taking this class or seeking this degree!). Sometimes I wonder why I like it so much: Is it the stories? The alone time? The escape? Maybe it's all those things put together. I have a ridiculous amount of unread books in my house and each time I bring home more, my husband makes a face (even though he is also an avid reader!). My favorite authors are Joe Hill, Ray Bradbury, Kurt Vonnegut, Audrey Niffenegger, Shirley Jackson, and Joe Schreiber. Once I find a favorite author, I tend to read everything by them. I haven't read the newest Joe Hill book yet and it's killing me! I also have a Shirley Jackson biography on my shelf but I feel like I can't read it until I read all of her short stories.
